"What is Schizophrenia" was my first animation made in 2016. It was made for a course called Honors Stop Motion Animation: An Agent for Change. We were asked to create a PSA that was personal to us.

For this project I built my own copy stand out of wood and used an i-phone 6 shooting on the i-stop-motion app. It was a fun way to explore animation for the first time as well as tell a personal story.

"What is Schizophrenia" is a stop-motion animation based on the interviews of Jamieson Hart who has suffered from schizophrenia since 2002. It aims to humanize severe mental illness without making it fashionable or frightening. An attempt to playfully explain one experience in order to defeat stigmas.
